DEMO SUBMISSION FAQ:

  • My band rocks - can we sign a deal with PEE RECORDS?
Depends, if you're planning or hoping to release in the next 4 or 5 months then we probably can't help you [we have a pretty busy release schedule]. Otherwise = maybe. We do accept demos so if you play melodic hardcore / punk / rock and think your band rocks so much, send your demo in addressed: ATTN: DEMO. Please don't email mp3s, that'll only piss me off. And please don't send me messages to "check out our songs on myspace" or email sonicbids links, just send in your demo. If you can't be bothered sending in your demo and bio, that's cool, I'm sure we wouldn't be interested in your lazy band anyway. We're not interested in big egos either so check them at the door, and remember: first impressions count, so put some effort into the presentation of your demo and bio! If we think your band rocks we'll be in touch... please DO NOT email us asking what we thought of it either. If we really like it we'll contact you.

  • My band rocks - can we be on your next PEE Compilation CD?
Maybe. If you rock so much, feel free to send in your CD for us to listen to and review in PEE Zine, [see below] if we agree that you really do rock we'll be in touch.

  • My label needs Aussie distro - can we get our stuff on the PEE RECORDS mail order catalogue?
Sure, if you're happy to sell your stuff on consignment. Again the first step would be to get in touch and send us samples of your records you want distro'd. We're keen to help spread the tunes of any independent melodic punk release!

  • How did PEE RECORDS come about?
PEE Records began life as a d.i.y mail order and distro originating from the zine. The mail order was modelled on the legendary South Aussie d.i.y mail order Spiral Objective which I was a regular customer of. We wanted to provide the same service for independent melodic punk and hardcore bands from both here in Australia and overseas. It wasn’t that long before we decided to release our own records with the very first being Away From Now’s acclaimed Sic Semper Tyrannis ep. Since then we’ve added another fourteen Aussie, one American, one Canadian and one Italian band to our roster, and the PEE REC family continues to grow even bigger in 2008. We’re proud to be independent, underground and even a little unfashionable. For us it’s all about the music and the people, not the ego and fashion.

    PEE ZINE FAQ:

  • My band rocks - can you feature us in PEE Zine?
We have a PEE policy of not featuring any bands unless we've seen them play or heard a recording. So if you're keen to get on the pages of PEE the first step would be to send in your record or CD along with a bio and interview request. Make sure you address it ATTN: PEE REVIEWS otherwise it won't be reviewed. And again; don't send messages to "check out our songs on myspace" or email sonicbids links, just send in your demo / CD. If you tunes rock the PEE office we'll be in touch. Bribes of free beer have also been known to work in the past!

  • Hey you crazy PEE Zine folks, I work for ------ record label and we'd like to send you cats our records for review. Where do we send them dudes?
Hey label guy. Send your records or CD along with a bio to the postal address above. Make sure you address it ATTN: PEE REVIEWS otherwise it won't be reviewed. NOTE: we DO NOT review digital promo / mp3s / CDRs / promos / burns / or CDs in cardboard wallets from labels! Send the real deal with all it's artwork or we bin it. Punch out the barcode if you must, just don't try to cheap out on our writers coz it goes in the bin. Also, be patient. As we only print 3 or 4 issues a year turnaround can be as long as five months. We send records that are reviewable to our nationwide network of reviewers and that takes a bit of time. While you're at it quit trying to be 'cool' and take off those fucking sunglasses at night!!

  • How can I advertise in PEE Zine?
That's easy, just contact us here and we'll send you our dirt cheap ad rates. We haven't increased our rates since the zine went to a full size A4 format back in 2004!!

  • What's the print run of every issue of PEE Zine?
500 hand numbered copies of every issue. Once they're sold - that's it, they're gone.

  • But I missed ishoo #... of PEE, can't you reprint one for me?
Let me think about it for a minute.... nope. Sorry. Don't think so. BUT check out the Distros that sell PEE coz quite often they have a copy left of an ishoo that we've sold out of!

  • Where can I buy a copy of PEE Zine?
Check out a full list of stores in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA on the PEE Zine order page. And if there's still not a store near you - just contact us!

  • What is all this PEE?
PEE Zine actually began life purely as a promotional tool for the gigs I was organizing / promoting thru my weekly 2 hour radio show on community fm. I began featuring interviews with the bands that would be appearing at my next show. I simply wanted to raise the profile of the bands whilst also advertising my shows. It was a lotta fun so I've kept doing my PEE even though I no longer live in Victoria, organize gigs or do a radio show. You can read an interview I did with punkhardcore.com.au here if you really wanna know more.

  • What year did PEE Zine begin?
The first ish of PEE Zine came out back in '96

    GRAPHIX FAQ:

  • What's the deal with Pposters?
I began doing flyers and posters for my own gigs back when PEE begun, then I was being asked more often by bands and people I met thru PEE to do their cd covers, posters, t-shirts designs etc. So Pposters was born.

  • What sort of stuff can you do and for how much?
I can do all sorts of stuff from adverts, flyers, complete cd artwork layout + design, logos, posters, business cards, zine covers what ever you're after! Check out some samples HERE.My wife shakes her head in disgust at me every time I tell her how much I charge for my work... so I guess I'm cheap! I have an hourly punk rate, but I like to negotiate coz I understand what it's like not to be able to afford stuff.

  • Can you do a logo for my band?
Sure. Get in touch and we'll work something out!

  • Can you send me something for free?
Sure, just follow these easy steps closely: Get a standard size envelope. Write YOUR name and address on it. Get a stamp. Lick it. Now stick it on that envelope - but DON'T SEAL IT! Now get another envelope and write the PEE RECORDS address on it. Repeat the stamp bit. This is where it gets tricky... fold the first envelope with your name and address on it in half and stuff it into the second envelope. Post them to PEE and sit back and let the free shit come your way!

  • I just wasted my time reading this shit and you still haven't answered my question!
    You'd better e me then!

    Cheers
    Pete

Who's responsible?? Hmmm. That'd be Pete Pee
